Four of the Midwest’s top craft distilleries are at it again. Corsair Distillery in Nashville, Tennessee, Few Spirits in Evanston, Illinois, Journeyman Distilling in Three Oaks, Michigan and Mississippi River Distilling Company in LeClaire, Iowa each contributed 30 gallons of whiskey that was blended into 2018’s edition of “Four Kings” Whiskey.
This is the fifth year for the collaboration. To mark the occasion, the distilleries blended their bourbon whiskies together and finished them in a used tequila barrel.
The four distinctly different whiskies combine with the unique barrel finish for a one-of-a-kind flavor. The whiskey is bottled at 101.4 proof and available only in the Chicago market. Each year, the distilleries combine to release a collaboration as part of Chicago’s annual “Whisky Week” activities.
With roughly 500 bottles produced, it is expected to sell fast as the other four iterations of the project have been quick to sell.
