Four Kings Malt Whiskey
Four of the Midwest's top craft distilleries released a third collaborative whiskey in Chicago in April 2016. Corsair Distillery in Nashville, Tennessee, Few Spirits in Evanston, Illinois, Journeyman Distilling in Three Oaks, Michigan and Mississippi River Distilling Company in Le Claire, Iowa each contributed 30 gallons of malt whiskey that was blended into what is being called "Four Kings" Malt Whiskey.
This unprecedented collaboration started in year with the release of "Four Kings Bourbon" in April of 2014 and was followed with “Four Kings Rye” in 2015. The malt was a blend of four whiskies, one from each distillery. Corsair provide pecan wood smoked malt whiskey, Few added a malt with some influence from cherry wood smoked malt, MRDC added a sweet 6 row malt whiskey and Journeyman a traditional American malt.
The four distilleries all sent 30 gallons of malt whiskey to Mississippi River Distilling Company. Those whiskies were blended and bottled as Four Kings Rye Whiskey in early 2016. The whiskey is available exclusively in the Chicago market.
