Four of the Midwest’s top craft distilleries are at it again. Corsair Distillery in Nashville, Tennessee, Few Spirits in Evanston, Illinois, Journeyman Distilling in Three Oaks, Michigan and Mississippi River Distilling Company in LeClaire, Iowa each contributed 30 gallons of whiskey that was blended into 2017’s edition of “Four Kings” Whiskey.
This is the fourth year for the collaboration. To mark the occasion, the distilleries blended four different kind of whiskies for this unique offering. Corsair contributed malt whiskey, Few added rye whiskey, Journeyman used wheat whiskey and Mississippi River Distilling added corn whiskey.
The four distinctly different whiskies combine for a one-of-a-kind flavor in this unique blend. The whiskey is bottled at 101.4 proof and available only in the Chicago market. Each year, the distilleries combine to release a collaboration as part of Chicago’s annual “Whisky Week” activities.
Four Kings blended whiskey will be unveiled at Binny’s “World of Whiskies” tasting show on April 20. Following that event, Delilah’s whiskey bar will host a tasting party with all four distillers in attendance. Binny’s will have the whiskey for sale at the World of Whiskies event. With roughly 500 bottles produced, it is expected to sell fast as the other three iterations of the project have been quick to sell.
